ASASE
The Association of Spanish Underwriting Agencies (ASASE) was constituted in April 2008, under the Organic Law 1/2002, of March 22nd, as a non-profit association. It did so as ASASEL, since only agencies working with Lloyd’s were included.
In 2023, the association was re-founded, opening up the possibility of integrating members who underwrite products from other insurers. The association represents all underwriting agencies, regardless of the insurance company they work with. It is duly registered in the National Registry of Associations.
Our Mission
To fight for the interests of Spanish Underwriting Agencies:
- Development and promotion of the Subscription Agency in Spain, but also in Europe.
- Continue with periodic dialogues with the DGSFP to improve our legislation and rights, as well as the understanding of our activity.
- To be a single voice in the market, to prevent or defend illegal or immoral actions of other actors against underwriting agencies, and more specifically against our partners.
- Assisting new underwriting agencies, their foundation and start-up.
To foster relationships and contacts with other associations in the insurance sector:
Mainly with Insurers, Reinsurers, Experts, Law Firms, Brokers, Software and Technology Companies.
To this end, these guilds will be included in the association, as different Partners, who directly or indirectly, will also defend and respect our figure.
ASASE is the only association of underwriting agencies in Spain, having been invited by the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds to participate in various meetings, along with other representatives of the insurance industry.
