ASASE launches the second season of its podcast with Jordi Pagès (Weecover): ‘Can an underwriting agency be 100% digital?’
The Spanish Underwriting Agencies Association (ASASE) launches the first episode of the second season of its podcast with Jordi Pagès, CEO and co-founder of Weecover. The conversation focuses on a very relevant issue in the minds of subscription agencies today: what it really means for a subscription agency to be fully digitised, and how its daily dynamics with brokers and insurers change when it operates on a modern insurance core.

Based on Pagès’ experience (from his career in the corporate world to the creation of Weecover in 2020), the episode traces the evolution of a platform that was created to facilitate distribution and now integrates end-to-end modules: issuance, renewals, supplements and cancellations; documentation and communications; payments; electronic signatures; underwriting and approval workflows; portals and widgets for distribution networks; and reporting for companies.
✅ ‘The big change is technological: we can offer the right coverage, at the right time and through the right channel, thanks to APIs and service orchestration. That makes “embedded insurance” a reality beyond just talk,’ explains Jordi Pagès during the interview.
The episode also addresses the current state of the insurtech market:
✅ ‘The filter has already been produced. It is not a question of replacing traditional players, but rather of complementing and accelerating critical areas, such as distribution, claims management, or pricing, with new digital alternatives,’ notes the interviewee.
At the end of the interview, the topic of artificial intelligence was discussed, with Weecover confirming its current use in internal configuration and development processes and its readiness to integrate AI modules into the core according to each client’s priorities.
