According to the report published by UNESPA, insurers face each year the payment of between 660 and 1,000 million euros for weather claims occurring in Spain, whose volume ranges between 650,000 and 850,000 claims per year.
This is one of the conclusions of the report “Insurance and climate sustainability” that analyzes the benefits directly paid by insurance in the period 2017-2021 due to meteorological phenomena through multi-risk property insurance and that has been prepared by Estamos Seguros, Unespa’s insurance culture dissemination initiative.
